Eva!!! Wonderfully written. I remember reading this story and being properly creeped out. Your take on the importance of his bedroom resonates, as I feel your room reflects on what you want for yourself (peace, inspiration, reflection). Those decorative efforts really make up who you are and what is important (I actually have one of your drawings up in mine!) It is heart breaking to think of Gregor and how his humanity was separated from him by his transition as well as what his family eventually made him out to be. Based on the quotes, his attachment to his room and that frame never seemed to change, it was just what his family felt that made him understand that he could never understand the meaning of it anymore. Overall, I love this message, as I would have never derived it naturally from this story. We all attach to those relics in our lives like Gregor does with his frame. Although we change overtime, our personal spaces are sacred and reflect our ever-changing selves.

I am excited to see what else comes of this page.

Xo Madison :)
